Seltzer’s Smokehouse Meats celebrated the opening of their new Outlet Store and Museum on Thursday at 209 N. Railroad St., Palmyra.
Instead of a traditional ribbon cutting, however, they opted for something more customized: slicing a massive piece of Lebanon Bologna.
Seltzer CEO Austin Wagoner addressed the crowd before cutting the bologna.
“The community has been excellent to our family for about 120 years,” said Wagoner. “We want to give back to you guys. This gives us an opportunity to connect with you guys directly and it gives us an opportunity to teach other people, through tours through the smokehouses, what makes us unique.
“Along with the jerky that we just launched, we can use this to help mark us moving forward into the next 40 years of the Seltzer’s legacy.”
The ceremony was held at 11 a.m. and drew guests including state Sen. Chris Gebhard, Lebanon County Commissioners Jo Ellen Litz and Michael Kuhn, and state Representatives Russ Diamond and Frank Ryan.
Seltzer’s mascot Smokey was also present, and happy to greet attendees.
Those in attendance could receive free beef jerky samples and Lebanon Bologna pretzel roll sandwiches.
They could also take a look at the new store’s wares including apparel, canned goods, and, of course, Seltzer’s meat products.
The new location also contains a museum full of Seltzer’s memorabilia.

The store is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.
