Bethel Township
Harassment – At 4:36 p.m. Sept. 23, police responded to Sunrise Court for a disturbance and cited a 60-year-old Lebanon woman with harassment. The victims were a 49-year-old Lebanon man and a 59-year-old Lebanon man. The charges were filed with MDJ 52-3-03.
City of Lebanon
Harassment – At 5 p.m. Sept. 23, police cited a 24-year-old Lebanon man after an incident on the 300 block of North 5th Street.
Public Drunkenness – At 3:30 a.m. Sept. 24, police cited a 45-year-old Lebanon man after an incident on the 400 block of North 5th Street.
Criminal Mischief – At 3:48 p.m. Aug. 22, police cited a 13-year-old North Cornwall Township male after he was accused of damaging property on the 1400 block of Elder Street.
Simple Assault – At 3:56 a.m. Sept. 25, police cited Jaxon-Brige Kurtz, 21, of Lebanon, with simple assault (domestic violence-related) after an incident on the 1000 block of East Lehman Street. Kurtz is accused of punching a 21-year-old female victim, injuring her face. Police transported Kurtz to LCCB and arraigned him before MDJ Kim Wolfe. Kurtz was incarcerated at LCCF in lieu of $5,000 bail.
Criminal Mischief – At 1:03 p.m. Sept. 20, police cited Mardalee Miranda-Ramirez, 37, of North Lebanon Township, after an incident on the 300 block of North 8th Street. Miranda-Ramirez is accused of damaging another person’s property, valued at approximately $2,275.
Recklessly Endangering Another Person, Disorderly Conduct, Resisting Arrest – At 10:37 a.m. Sept. 22, police cited Roger Shifflett, 48, of Lebanon, after an incident on the 100 block of Van Buren Street. Shifflett is accused of threatening another person with a knife and resisting arrest. Police transported Shifflett to LCCB and arraigned him before MDJ Carl Garver. Shifflett was incarcerated at LCCF in lieu of $50,000 bail.
East Hanover Township
Vehicle Accident, Stop Signs and Yield Signs – At 8:16 a.m. Sept. 20, a crash occurred on SR 934 North at its intersection with Jonestown Road involving a 2022 Chevrolet CK 2500 driven by a 49-year-old Lebanon man and a 2017 GMC 3500 driven by a 41-year-old Mechanicsburg man. The Lebanon man and the Mechanicsburg man were wearing their seatbelts. The Lebanon man sustained no injuries. The Mechanicsburg man sustained injuries of unknown severity but refused transport. Police cited the Lebanon man for stop signs and yield signs.
Vehicle Accident, Driving on Roadways Laned for Traffic, Restraint Systems – At 6:19 a.m. Sept. 30, a single-vehicle crash occurred on the on-ramp from SR 934 to SR 22 East when a 2008 Volvo XC90 driven by a 33-year-old York man was traveling east on the ramp and failed to negotiate a left turn of the ramp. The Volvo hit a guide rail and a concrete traffic barrier with its front bumper and came to rest blocking both eastbound lanes. The York man was not wearing his seatbelt at the time of the crash, sustained suspected minor injuries and was transported via Life Lion EMS to the Hershey Medical Center. Police cited the York man with driving on roadways laned for traffic, restraint systems, and required financial responsibility.
Heidelberg Township
Vehicle Accident, Driving on Roadways Laned for Traffic – At 2:46 a.m. Aug. 28, an unknown vehicle, later observed via surveillance as a dark-colored pickup truck, lost control while traveling south in an unmarked lane of North Locust Street. The vehicle crossed into the north lane, hit a curb (leaving a tire mark), hit a light pole (leaving scuff marks), and continued forward onto the grass (leaving a tire mark leading back to the road). Tire marks indicate the vehicle swerved back onto the road and into the opposing lane, then swerved into the south lane and hit a parked car. The parked car sustained no damage. Charges of driving on roadways laned for traffic are pending investigation.
Jackson Township
Retail Theft – At 7:30 p.m. Sept. 12, a suspect damaged items at Dollar General on West Lincoln Avenue. The incident involved a 2011 Ford Focus.
Jonestown Borough
Receiving Stolen Property, Unauthorized Use of Motor Vehicle – At 8:23 p.m. Sept. 23, police conducted a traffic stop on South Broad Street on a stolen vehicle. Police detained the occupants and cited the driver, Anthony Scott, 29, of Tremont, with receiving stolen property and unauthorized use of motor vehicle. The victim was a 31-year-old Annville man.
Myerstown Borough
Vehicle Accident, Operating Vehicle on Suspended Registration – At 8:16 a.m. Sept. 20, a 2004 Chevrolet Trail Blazer driven by a 26-year-old Wernersville woman was traveling west on East Main Avenue. Folk said she was traveling on the right half of the road when she had a medical emergency and passed out. The Chevrolet exited the right half of the road, drove across the left lane, and sideswiped a utility pole, then hit a residence on the 200 block of East Main Avenue as well as the neighboring residence. The Wernersville woman was wearing her seatbelt was not injured in the crash. Leffler’s Towing towed the Chevrolet from the scene. Police cited the woman for operating vehicle on suspended registration and without financial responsibility.
North Cornwall Township
Vehicle Accident – At 10:28 p.m. Sept. 24, a vehicle driven by an 87-year-old Lebanon woman was exiting the NAPA store parking lot and turning left onto the 1600 block of Cumberland Street, heading west. The woman failed to see a vehicle driven by a 73-year-old Lebanon woman who was traveling in the east lane. The vehicles collided, sustained heavy damage, and had to be towed from the scene. The 87-year-old woman was transported via ambulance to the hospital.
Vehicle Accident – At 3:17 p.m. Sept. 27, a vehicle driven by a 16-year-old Schaefferstown juvenile was attempting to make a left turn from Cornwall Road onto Rocherty Road when the juvenile’s vehicle was struck by a vehicle driven by a 65-year-old Lititz woman No injuries were reported. Both vehicles were towed from the scene.
Palmyra Borough
Disorderly Conduct, Harassment – At approximately 7:02 p.m. Aug. 8, police responded to an incident involving four females who were yelling and fighting in the 500 block of North Railroad Street. According to a report, three females drove to the area to fight with another female, and they were yelling loudly to get the fourth female to fight them. The fourth female engaged the other three females, and a physical fight ensued on the road in public view. Police cited a 27-year-old woman with two counts of disorderly conduct and one count of harassment, a 22-year-old woman with harassment and disorderly conduct, and a 42-year-old woman with one count of disorderly conduct.
Bench Warrant, Driving While Operating Privilege is Suspended or Revoked – At 7:43 p.m. Sept. 24, police initiated a traffic stop on a motorcycle on the 500 block of South Railroad Street. Police determined that the driver, Charles Thornewell, 41, was operating with a suspended driver’s license as well as an expired inspection and registration. Police also determined that Thornewell had a bench warrant out of Cumberland County for receiving stolen property. Police arrested Thornewell for the warrant and transported him to LCCB to await transport. He was also issued two traffic citations as a result of this incident.
Vehicle Accident, DUI, Careless Driving – At approximately 11:09 p.m. Aug. 13, police responded to the 200 block of North Forge Road for a crash. Police identified the driver of the vehicle at fault as Jeffrey Lengel, 56, and arrested him for suspicion of driving while under the influence of alcohol. On Sept. 18, charges were filed against Lengel at MDJ Garver’s office for DUI-incapable of safe driving, DUI-highest rate, and careless driving.
Theft – At approximately 4:51 p.m. Sept. 22, police responded to the 400 block of East Cherry Street for a theft of a mini bike. According to a report, an unknown person removed a purple-framed mini bike with white strips and a black seat from the porch of a residence on the block sometime between 5 a.m. and 4 p.m. Sept. 22. Police checked the area and did not see cameras that would have caught this theft. Criminal Mischief – During the early morning hours of Aug. 29 and Aug. 30, police responded to the 500 block of North Railroad Street for reports of vandalism to two vehicles. The vehicles each sustained approximately $10,000 in damage. Police identified the suspect as Joshua Zeigler, 34. On Sept. 20, charges were filed against Zeigler for two counts of criminal mischief.
