Christkindl Market returns to Coleman Memorial Park on Dec. 3 for the 10th consecutive year.

The event is organized by the park’s beneficiary organization, the Friends of the Coleman Memorial Park. Proceeds go towards park maintenance and improvements.

Last year, thanks in part to mild temperatures, the Christkindl Market saw its largest attendance to date, with strong sales for vendors and some even selling out. While this weekend is also expected to be mild, organizers will have a tent set up with heaters in place to ensure a warm respite whatever the conditions may bring.

Christkindl celebrations (literally “Christ Child Market”) have taken root stateside as major cities mimic the still very popular European tradition, which has German roots making it particularly conducive to a Lebanon County transplant.

Saturday, Dec. 3, will see the Coleman Memorial Park filled with vendors and outdoor booths. The market will run from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., and most activities will be gathered around the carriage house.

Shoppers will find many holiday-themed items, crafts, and original pieces of artwork for sale. The event also features visits with Santa, music, and a large variety of foods and hot drinks.

Find a full list of vendors below. New vendors this year include Smoke Haus 1, Boos Bees, Simply Elegant by Adina, and Sugar Mama’s Art.

The event, which benefits the historic Coleman Memorial Park, is organized by the Friends of Coleman Memorial Park. Mornings are the typically the most popular time for visitors to the annual Christkindl Market according to organizers. (Barb West)
