Lebanon City Police announced Friday that they are investigating the circumstances of a gun shooting which caused a 29-year-old victim to be hospitalized this week in Lebanon.

In a news release, the Lebanon City Police Department said that officers were dispatched to 10th and Church streets around 2:45 a.m. on Wednesday, March 15, for a well being check. Upon arrival, Lebanon police said that officers met with the caller who informed them that the subject of the call had already left the area in a vehicle.

The news release says that a short time later, around 2:55 a.m. on Wednesday, officers were dispatched to a medical facility in Lebanon for an assault. Officers arrived at the facility shortly thereafter and spoke with a 29-year-old victim suffering from two gunshot wounds, according to the release.

Lebanon police said that they have determined that the two incidents were related, and that the victim had been shot in the area of 10th and Church streets before being transported to the hospital by a friend.

Police said that the circumstances remain under investigation, but they do not believe that the shooting was a random act of gun violence.

Lebanon police asked that any witnesses or persons with other information contact the department at 717-272-6611 or CrimeStoppers at 717-270-9800.
