Editor’s Note: Last year, Michael and Nicole Borrell began reviewing Lebanon Valley’s restaurants and eating attractions as the Lebanon Valley Food Critics. Since then, the couple has aimed to offer unbiased reviews of the eating and drinking establishments the Lebanon Valley has to offer. LebTown is pleased to be partnering with LVFC to share these reviews with our readers. Bon appétit!

Welcome to the first season of our highly anticipated Lebanon Valley Pizza Wars. Eight entrants from four regions of the Valley will compete, bracket style, to be declared the winner of Best Pizza in The Valley.

We began this season with 8 entrants from four regions of the Valley. The winner of each region squared off in a one classic pepperoni slice finale. Our final four were Angelo’s , Bella PizzaLucky’s Pizzeria and Pizza Town 1. All slices were amazing!

Bella Pizza’s slice came with a little extra seasoning on top. The slice also had more cheese than the others and the sauce itself had a noticeable touch of sweetness at the end.

Angelo’s slice was large and consistently crispy from start to finish. The pepperoni slices were added upon ordering and nearly covered the entire slice. The structure of the slice remained intact and did not fold or droop as you were eating.

Lucky’s Pizzeria was a general comfort slice with just a little grease on the bite. The outer crust was the only crispy part and was easily folded if you like to eat it that way.

Pizza Town 1’s slice was loaded with sauce and pepperoni. Another slice that was crispy throughout but was also foldable. Be careful, this one can get messy. A very quality slice.

And the winner is…

Congratulations to Angelo’s for winning Season 1 of Pizza Wars! The quality of the slice, crispy crust, flavor of sauce, and freshness of ingredients made these slices standout for the critic crew.

We hope you enjoyed this first season of Pizza Wars. We encourage everyone to enjoy the slices we have tried; you won’t be disappointed!
