Lebanon VA Medical Center hospitalist Dr. Benny Bhaskar was awarded the 2022 Medicine Clerkship Teacher of the Year Award for Affiliate Faculty in the Medicine Category from the Penn State University College of Medicine.

According to a press release, Bhaskar was described by students as a genuine person, a team-oriented physician, and an excellent teacher.

The award was presented along with other Teacher of the Year awards at PSU’s annual Clinical Education Partnership meeting, held earlier this year on the Hershey campus. Awards are based on evaluations by Penn State medical students.

“I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to my students, who have inspired me to continue pushing the boundaries of my teaching abilities,” said Bhaskar in a press release. “Their enthusiasm and passion for learning are the driving force behind my teaching.”

Bhaskar said he was proud to be a part of two exceptional institutions – the VA and PSU.

“I will continue to strive for excellence in everything that I do,” said Bhaskar.
