The South Londonderry Township Board of Supervisors on Tuesday unanimously approved the 2024 budget development calendar.
The budget will be developed throughout a series of workshops beginning in September.
The first workshop, held Sept. 27, will review the following items:
- Street Light Fund
- Fire Hydrant Fund
- Traffic Signal Fund
- Recreation Fund
- Sewer District #1 Fund – Mount Gretna
- MS$ Fund
- Capital Fleet Reserve
- In the Net Fund
- Highway Liquid Fuels
- K-9 Fund
- Stone Knoll Fund
- Operating Reserve Fund
The next workshop will be held Oct. 25 and will cover the following topics:
- General Fund – all revenues and expenses
- Fire Tax Fund – Campbelltown Fire Company
- Fire Tax Fund – Lawn Fire Company
- Sewer District #2 Fund – Authority
- American Rescue Plan Fund
- All Funds Final Review
The proposed budget will be advertised at the supervisors’ Nov. 13 meeting and a final workshop may be held Nov. 22 to conduct a final review of the budget, if deemed necessary.
The 2024 budget is scheduled to be approved at the board’s Dec. 12 meeting.
In other news, supervisors:
- Tabled action concerning annually billing residents connected to Mount Gretna sewers, as supervisor William Bova was unwilling to introduce the bill and supervisor Jack Custer was not present at Tuesday’s meeting.

- Heard the results of the 2022 audit, which found the township’s financial statements to be accurate.
- Unanimously approved a minor subdivision plan at 212 Lawn Road subdividing 3.3 acres off the 5-acre property conditional on addressing the planning commission’s comments.
- Unanimously approved a new appointee to the Municipal Sewer Authority.
- Heard reports including the township manager’s, police department’s, and library’s.
- Unanimously approved the minutes of their April 11 meeting (PDF).
South Londonderry Township supervisors meet at 27 W. Market St. on the second Tuesday of each month at 7 p.m. The next meeting will be held June 13. These meetings are open to the public and do not require registration.
