Visit Lebanon Valley has partnered with local businesses to construct “The World’s Largest Lebanon Bologna Sandwich” at the 2023 Lebanon Area Fair.

The event, taking place at the Fair from 5 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, July 25, aims to not only break records but also tackle hunger in the Lebanon Valley with the help of Lebanon County Christian Ministries (LCCM).

The massive sandwich, featuring local-favorite Lebanon bologna from Seltzer’s Smokehouse Meats, will be unveiled during the Fair’s Community Night. All attendees are invited to observe the assembly process and partake in a complimentary slice of the sandwich, complete with a range of fixings from an accompanying bar.

Building on the theme, the Fair will also offer Lebanon bologna-themed merchandise, including stickers, buttons, and t-shirts. While the event may not be certified by Guinness World Records, organizers promise a sandwich of significant size and, indeed, brimming with Lebanon bologna.

Before the event, the public can join the fight against hunger by sponsoring a one-foot “bite” of the sandwich. Each foot-long sponsorship costs $100, with all proceeds going directly to LCCM as a tax-deductible donation. If the 150-foot sandwich goal is met, the potential donation will be $15,000.

Sponsors can see their dollars extend far into the community, with $100 providing 50 free noon meals, $200 supplying a family of four with a supplemental food order, and $500 furnishing food for 10 single-person households.

This summer, come witness a record-breaking sandwich build and take a bite out of hunger in Lebanon Valley.
