Bethel Township

Vehicle Accident, Driving on Roadways Laned for Traffic – At 9:32 p.m. June 19, a crash occurred when a 2022 Toyota Camry driven by a 20-year-old Lebanon man, accompanied by a 21-year-old Phoenix, Arizona, woman, was traveling north on Mount Zion Road. A 2020 Ford Explorer driven by a 32-year-old Jonestown man was facing west and stopped prior to the intersection on Stracks Dam Road at a posted stop sign. As the Toyota approached the intersection, the Lebanon man pulled onto the edge of Stracks Dam Road and struck the Ford’s driver’s side. All occupants were wearing seatbelts and reported no injuries. Police charged the Lebanon man with driving on roadways laned for traffic.

Theft of Lost/Mislaid Property – At approximately 12:17 a.m. June 28, police responded to the 200 block of Freeport Road for a reported stolen cellphone, which a 21-year-old Bernville man had dropped somewhere in the parking lot. He returned to look for his Motorola phone but couldn’t find it. The victim said when he attempted to call it, an unknown person answered but did not say anything. The victim said the phone was valued at $90 and noted he had insurance on the phone and would receive a new one if he reported it stolen. No video surveillance footage was retrieved for this incident. Anyone with any information is asked to contact PSP Jonestown at 717-865-2194.

City of Lebanon

Arrest Warrant – On June 15, police issued an arrest warrant against Maria Quinones-Vazquez, 35, with an original charge of retail theft. The incident occurred on the 800 block of South 12th Street.

Arrest Warrant – On June 29, police issued an arrest warrant against Daisy Muniz, 49, with an original charge of retail theft. The incident occurred on the 1000 block of Maple Street.

Arrest Warrant – On June 29, police issued an arrest warrant against Heidi Thornton, 30, with an original charge of theft of leased property. The incident occurred on the 700 block of East Cumberland Street.

East Hanover Township

Theft – On June 30, police responded to Homestead Road for a reported theft of items from a junkyard sometime between 6 p.m. June 29 and 5 a.m. June 30. Stolen property included an impact gun, a Sawzall, part 100 aluminum wheels, and part 50 automobile batteries. The victim was a 67-year-old Grantville man.

Assault Bodily Injury No Weapon – At 9:47 p.m. June 24, police responded to Ono Road, after a 26-year-old Annville man struck a 61-year-old Annville woman in the face with a cellphone, causing an apparent injury. The arrestee attempted to flee on foot from troopers but was taken into custody. Police are investigating.

Death By Suicide – Police are investigating an unattended death of a 48-year-old Fredericksburg man in a 2019 Ford at North SR 934 and Jonestown Road at 7:30 a.m. July 6. The cause of death was determined to be a self-inflicted gunshot.

Heidelberg Township

Suicide Attempt – At 3:52 p.m. July 7, police responded to Michters Road and Hostetter Lane, where it was discovered that a single-vehicle crash into a tree was an attempted suicide. The only occupant of the 2016 Ford Focus, a 39-year-old Ephrata man, was transported to the Hershey Medical Center for treatment.

Vehicle Accident – At 10:08 p.m. June 10, a single-vehicle crash occurred on the 2100 block of Heidelberg Avenue. A 2011 Chevrolet Equinox driven by a 69-year-old Denver man was negotiating a left curve in the road and failed to negotiate the curve, hitting a utility pole. The Chevrolet spun approximately 180 degrees and sustained disabling front-end damage. The driver was wearing a seatbelt, sustained injuries, and was transported via Schaefferstown EMS to Hershey Medical Center.

Jackson Township

Vehicle Accident, Driving on Roadways Laned for Traffic – At 8:03 a.m. July 1, a single-vehicle crash occurred on SR 422 (West Lincoln Avenue) at North Fairlane Avenue. A 1996 Buick Regal was traveling west on SR 422 when it exited its lane and almost struck an oncoming vehicle in the east lane. The Buick sideswiped Timber Creek Coffee, at 494 W. Lincoln Ave., and hit signs at the intersection of North Fairlane Avenue and SR 422. The Buick continued to travel out of its lane on the east side of the road into a property on the 500 block of West Lincoln Avenue, plowing through shrubs and over grass until it struck wooden fence posts on another property. According to a report, the male driver said the Buick had mechanical issues, with a loud screeching noise and locked steering, which caused him to lose control. Although the car appeared to be drivable, it was towed from the scene by C.J. Wagner’s, which was advised by police to do a thorough inspection. Jackson Township put a portable stop sign at the intersection. The driver reported no injuries and did not want to be seen by EMS. Police charged him with driving on roadways laned for traffic and another citation.

Myerstown Borough

Theft Items from Motor Vehicle – At 3:08 a.m. June 19, someone stole items from an unlocked 1998 Honda Accord Crosstour on South Cherry Street. Victims were a 20-year-old Myerstown woman and a 19-year-old Carlisle, Indiana, man.

Vehicle Accident, Stop Signs and Yield Signs – At 6 p.m. June 30, a crash occurred when a 2020 Chevrolet Trax driven by a 34-year-old Richland woman was traveling east on East Carpenter Avenue and failed to stop at a stop sign posted at the intersection with South Cherry Street. The Chevrolet traveled up the sidewalk curb and struck the front porch of the property. The Chevrolet then left the scene without reporting the damage. It is unknown whether the Richland woman was wearing a seatbelt. She reported no injuries. Police charged her with stop signs and yield signs.

Vehicle Accident, Driving on Roadways Laned for Traffic – At 11:10 a.m. June 23, a crash occurred when a 2008 Honda CRV driven by a 64-year-old Myerstown woman was traveling south on North Railroad Street. A 2021 Toyota Camry driven by a 35-year-old Laurel, Maryland, woman was stopped at the right curb of the road with its hazard lights activated. The Honda drifted right and struck the Toyota. The Honda sustained disabling damage to its front right wheel and came to rest at the intersection with West Jefferson Street. The Toyota sustained disabling damage to its rear left wheel. Both vehicles were towed from the scene by CJ Wagner’s Towing. Both women were wearing seatbelts, sustained suspected minor injuries, and were transported via Myerstown First Aid Unit to the Good Samaritan Hospital. Police charged the Myerstown woman with driving on roadways laned for traffic.

North Cornwall Township

False Identification to Police, Driving While Suspended – At 7:23 p.m. June 18, police charged Deyanira Santana, 30, of Lebanon, with false identification to police and driving with a suspended driver’s license after an incident on Quentin Road.

Theft – At 11:51 p.m. June 19, police charged Joshua Scheuring, 26, of Lebanon, after an incident at Speedway.

Flight to Avoid Apprehension, Drug Possession, False Identification to Police – At 10:50 a.m. June 21, police charged Angel Arroyo, 27, of Lebanon, with flight to avoid apprehension with an active felony warrant, possession of a controlled substance, false identification to police, simple assault, resisting arrest, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Police charged both Steven Marko, 37, of Lebanon, and Destinee Merryfield, 19, of Flourtown, with possession of a controlled substance. This incident occurred on Millview Court.

Vehicle Fire – At 11:51 a.m. June 24, police responded to Pondside Lane for a vehicle fire. The driver of the vehicle, a 29-year-old Lebanon woman, was driving when she smelled smoke inside her vehicle. She pulled over, and the car engine became engulfed in flames. No injuries were reported.

PFA Violation – At 7:49 p.m. July 2, police took Joshua LeBlanc, 38, of Lebanon, into custody for the PFA violation and for an active arrest warrant from the Lebanon County Sheriff’s Office after an incident on South 17th Street.

North Lebanon Township

Click It or Ticket Detail – From June 21 through June 30, police issued 31 traffic citations and two misdemeanor charges and apprehended three individuals on warrants throughout the Click It or Ticket detail.

North Londonderry Township

Vehicle Accident, Stop Signs and Yield Signs – Police charged a 93-year-old Palmyra man with stop signs and yield signs after a crash at the intersection of Lingle Avenue and Pajabon Drive at 1:45 p.m. July 5. According to police, the man’s vehicle proceeded through a stop sign and struck the side of a vehicle driven by a 60-year-old Palmyra woman.

Palmyra Borough

Theft By Unlawful Taking, Theft By Failure to Make Required Disposition of Funds – On June 28, police charged Anthony Davis, 21, with felony theft (theft by unlawful taking and theft by failure to make required disposition of funds) involving approximately $5,000 worth of stolen mechanical equipment. Police took Davis into custody on June 29 at his home and transported him to LCCB.

National Night Out Against Crime – National Night Out Against Crime 2023 will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Aug. 1 at Buck Swank Stadium, Palmyra Middle School.

Richland Borough

Assault with Weapon – At approximately 7:30 p.m. July 7, police responded to the 300 and 400 blocks of Elm Street for an assault involving neighbors. The victim was a 57-year-old Richland man.

South Lebanon Township

Drug Possession – At approximately 10:12 p.m. June 22, police pulled over a vehicle at the intersection of Klein and South 5th avenues. Police charged the driver, Justin Cheyney, 50, with possession of a small amount of marijuana.

Arrest Warrant – On June 29, police issued an arrest warrant against Chad Layser, 36, with the original charges being possession with intent to deliver, driving while under the influence of a controlled substance, and one count of possession of a controlled substance. The incident occurred on East Cumberland Street.

Union Township

Burglary Commercial Force – At approximately 2:39 a.m. July 6, police responded to Off Road Motorsports & Cycle Sales, 2309 SR 72, where the business had been broken into and six off-road motorcycles had been stolen. All six motorcycles were recovered in the immediate area, and two subjects were taken into custody. Additional subjects remain at large. West Lebanon Township

Theft From Motor Vehicle – On July 5, police charged Gage Nafzinger, of Myerstown, with a first-degree misdemeanor of theft from a motor vehicle due to his involvement in an incident where he took items out of an unlocked vehicle at Rutter’s.

Drug Possession – On July 6, police responded to Rutter’s for a report of an individual asleep in their vehicle. Police found that the individual, a 28-year-old man, was in possession of suspected heroin and drug paraphernalia. Charges have been filed.
