Here are the most recent food safety violations in Lebanon County, as documented by Pennsylvania’s Department of Agriculture.

Inspections are taken as a “snapshot” of the day and time, and should not necessarily be taken as overall indicators of an establishment’s cleanliness. Violations are often corrected prior to the inspector leaving the site. Restaurants were found to be in compliance unless otherwise noted.

Only three potentially hazardous ready-to-eat food prepared in the food facility and held for more than 48 hours located in the refrigerators and walk-in were date marked and those three were marked with the date of 7/10/23. The items were discarded.

4 – 101.11 Characteristics – Materials for Construction and Repair
A plastic deli container, an item intended for single-use, is being used as a scoop in dry ingredients instead of a durable scoop with a handle.

4 – 203.12 Accuracy of Temperature Measuring Devices for Ambient Air and Water
Thermometer in the walk-in cooler used for measuring air temperature observed to be reading 18°F; this was obviously out of calibration or all of the items would be frozen.

4 – 302.14 Sanitizing Solutions, Testing Devices
Food facility does not have available sanitizer test strips or test kits to determine appropriate sanitizer concentration. (Note: Facility had pH test strips instead of sanitizer test strips.)

Clean food pans were observed to have a small amount of cooked rice residue and were not clean to sight and touch.

Observed clean food equipment stored wet in a manner that does not allow for draining and/or air drying (wet nesting).

6 – 202.15 Outer Openings, Protected
The door to the outside, located in the prep area of the food facility, is being propped open. Corrected. A door located in the rear area of the food facility has a gap and does not protect against the entry of insects, rodents, and other animals.

6 – 301.11 Handwashing Cleanser, Availability
Soap was not available at the handwash sink.

Observed one plastic food container that was cracked and broken. Discarded.

4 – 901.11 Equipment & Utensils, Air Drying Required
Food employee stated that he uses a towel to dry utensils and food equipment after cleaning. Explained that this is a violation and that equipment is to air dry.

Observed clean food equipment in rear storage area, stored wet in a manner that does not allow for draining and/or air drying (wet nesting).
