LebTown features a different Lebanon County pet each Friday to help us enter the weekend with the best vibes possible.

Our Pet of the Week sometimes is a local furbaby who already lives in a happy Lebanon County home. Other times the weekly column will spotlight an animal that’s available for adoption through a local shelter and is seeking a forever family.

This week, meet adoptable Sage!

Sage

Sage is a pit bull, estimated to be around 1 year old.

She found her way to us as a stray,” says shelter rep Susie. “This poor girl was seen being dumped from a van along with another dog about 2 months ago.”

The other dog, Snoopy, was caught right away and brought to the shelter. Fortunately, Susie notes, Snoopy has already been adopted.

“Unfortunately, Sage was not,” she says. “She ran and ran. Luckily, she did stay in the area. For about a week, a diligent citizen monitored her and had a trap set to secure her. After a few days, she was caught and brought into the HSLC with minor bumps and bruises, but safe.”

This petite pibble weighs 37 pounds. “She was quite nervous at first, but has really blossomed,” Susie says. “She is a very sweet and gentle girl that likes everyone she meets. She craves affection from her human friends and gives kisses too!

“Sage enjoys sitting on the bench and receiving pets and attention. She also walks well on a leash and is treat motivated. This docile girl would do well with dog savvy kiddos (as she does like her space at times). Canine siblings would be dependent upon meet and greet.”

If you are interested in adopting Sage, please fill out the adoption application online at lebanonhumane.org or call the Humane Society at 717-628-1369 for more information.
