This fall, Penn State Extension will again be offering ServSafe Food Safety Manager courses in both Spanish and English.
The Spanish course will take place on Friday, Oct. 13, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Wednesday, Oct. 18, from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., followed by the certification exam from 1 to 3 p.m. Registration for this course closes Oct. 6.
The English course will take place on Thursday, Nov. 9, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Wednesday, Nov. 16, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., followed by the exam. Registration for this course closes Nov. 2.
Both courses will be held at the Penn State Extension of Lebanon County at 2120 Cornwall Road, Lebanon.
Certified ServSafe instructors will lead the in-person trainings, covering topics such as proper food handling techniques, sanitation, and food service facility cleaning. Participants who pass the multiple-choice exam with a score of 70% or higher will receive a ServSafe Food Protection Manager certificate, valid for five years.

All instructors hold advanced degrees and have received extensive training in food safety.
The ServSafe Food Protection Manager Certificate meets the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture requirements for the Food Employee Certification Act.
