On Monday, Oct. 9, a former residence at 1320 Cornwall Road is expected to be demolished to allow for a new section of Wilhelm Avenue that will intersect Cornwall Road.
PennDOT said that work on the intersection itself is expected to begin the week of Monday, Oct. 23. Some traffic disruptions and single lane flows should be expected weekly while the project is underway, PennDOT said, after 8:30 a.m. Monday-Thursday and from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Friday. PennDOT said that there will also be a weekend closure for paving sometime next year.
As previously reported, this $1.84 million project is being overseen by H&K Group of Skippack, Montgomery County. PennDOT said that the project is expected to be complete by Sept. 11, 2024.
