Lebanon city police are investigating an apparent murder-suicide that took place on the 300 block of South 9th Street last weekend.
Acting on a reader tip, LebTown contacted city police chief Bret Fisher on Thursday morning asking about the incident. Although Fisher did not respond to LebTown, hours later a release was sent through the city’s Crimewatch website about the incident.
According to the police release, the investigation began shortly before 9 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 4, when police located two deceased individuals in the home. The man and a woman both had apparent fatal gunshot wounds, according to the release.
They were identified by police as 42-year-old Jenny Hilario-Veras and 59-year-old Secundi Jimenez-Marrero.
Police did not specify the relationship between the two individuals, and it was not immediately clear how police became aware of a need to investigate the residence.
LebTown confirmed with GoFundMe that a GoFundMe has been created by Hilario-Veras’ nephew to support the nine-year-old daughter who survives her.
The Lebanon County coroner’s office responded to the scene and the case is currently being classified as a homicide/suicide, according to the release.
