LebTown features a different Lebanon County pet each Friday to help us enter the weekend with the best vibes possible.
Our Pet of the Week sometimes is a local furbaby who already lives in a happy Lebanon County home. Other times the weekly column will spotlight an animal that’s available for adoption through a local shelter and is seeking a forever family.
This week, meet adoptable MJ!
The Humane Society of Lebanon County is looking for a kind-hearted individual or family who will give MJ a loving home to live out her final years.
A shelter spokesperson told Lebtown that MJ is a pit bull, about 10 years old, who was given up by an owner who moved and could no longer keep her.
“MJ loves going for walks, carrying her favorite stuffies along the way, and when she gets a pep in her step she even bunny hops!” the spokesperson said. “She is a funny, lovable lady and is sure to brings lots of laughter and companionship into her forever home.
“She would do well with dog-savvy children and would thrive as the only canine in the home so she can be the queen of the castle.”
Unfortunately, MJ has a lump along her mammary chain that is suspected to be cancerous, and unfortunately she is not a candidate for surgery, the Humane Society revealed. “She is looking for a soft spot to land where she can live out her golden years.”
If you are interested in adopting or fostering MJ, please fill out the adoption application online at lebanonhumane.org or call the Humane Society at 717-628-1369 for more information.
