The Lebanon County Metropolitan Planning Organization and the Lebanon County Planning Department are soliciting public feedback on a draft of a new long-range transportation plan.

The feedback will be used to shape the plan, which will guide decisions about transportation in the area over the next four years. Officials started work on the plan in 2023 and expect to put it into action later in 2024.

As part of the public engagement process, a second of two in-person public meetings is scheduled for Tuesday, April 2. The meeting will start at 4 p.m. and run until 5:30 at the Penn State Extension Lebanon County office, 2120 Cornwall Road, Lebanon.

Officials plan to present a draft of the new plan, which will feature 20-year transportation priorities and projects for the county. Following the roughly 15-minute presentation, officials will hold a Q&A session with members of the public.

Lebanon County residents can also participate in the planning process by visiting the projectโ€™s website, which links to the 2020 long-range transportation plan. Residents can also use an interactive mapping tool or complete an online survey.

The survey has so far received about 250 responses, revealing that about half of the respondents commute five days or more a week to work or school, with those who don’t commute as often being split between working or learning from home. This is compared to 75 percent of respondents who said they commuted five days or more a week before the pandemic.

Members of the public can email the team at ideas@lebanoncountylrtp.com with feedback or requests for paper versions of the mapping tool or survey.
