As part of the American Heart Association’s 2024 Lebanon Heart Ball, the American Heart Association and G.F. Bowman donated more than 70 new soccer balls, footballs, basketballs, and other playground balls to youth organizations in Lebanon County.
The Lebanon Revolution youth soccer program received 10 soccer balls, and the South Sixth Street Playground in Lebanon received more than 60 different kinds of sports and playground balls. These donations were a part of G.F. Bowman’s sponsorship of the 2024 Lebanon Heart Ball, which was held March 9 at Lebanon Country Club.
The event’s attendees were encouraged to bring a ball to donate to the American Heart Association. A collection bin was set up at the entrance, and organizers said it was filled with donations by the end of the night.
In addition to the ball collection, the Lebanon Heart Ball raised over $144,000 for the American Heart Association’s centennial year.
The American Heart Association says that children should get at least 60 minutes of moderate or vigorous physical activity every day for their whole-body and mental health. Children who stay active have better bone health, physical fitness, brain function, attention, and academic performance. It can also help them maintain a healthy weight and avoid depression.
