Motorists may encounter slow patches on interstate highways 78 and 81 through Lebanon County next week as PennDOT maintenance crews clean the structures.

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation announced on Tuesday that crews are scheduled to clean the bridges on I-78 and I-81 that fall within county lines. Weather permitting, the work will be performed from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday through Thursday, May 20-23.

Lanes or shoulders could be closed at various locations during the process, so motorists are cautioned to stay alert while driving through the work zone.

Motorists can check conditions on major roadways by visiting 511PA.com online, by downloading the 511PA app on their smartphones, or by calling 5-1-1.
