The ELCO Education Foundation is seeking nominations for the 2024 induction into the ELCO Education Foundation Hall of Fame. The induction will be part of the homecoming activities at the school this fall.
Last year’s Hall of Fame inductees were William Derek Fulk, class of 1991, and Ross Kramer, class of 1994. Fulk is the head coach of the ELCO girls’ soccer team and has been involved with ELCO sports programs for more than three decades. Kramer is the CEO and co-founder of Listrak.
The Hall of Fame honors individuals who have achieved noteworthy accomplishments in their respective fields. A news release from the foundation says that anyone who was a member of a class that graduated at least 10 years prior to the nomination date — plus those who served in the military or dealt with extenuating circumstances — and attended public school in the boundaries of the district is eligible to be nominated.
The nomination application includes a two-page maximum summary of why the candidate should be considered for the Hall of Fame, a list of education and employment information, a list of awards and examples of work, and other relevant information.
Once nominated, a candidate will be considered for five consecutive years. Before the nomination deadline each year, candidates can submit relevant information to be added to their application. If the candidate is not selected within five years, a new nomination application must be submitted to be considered for the Hall of Fame selection.
Nomination forms and additional documentation are available on the school district’s website. All nominations must be submitted by Friday, May 31. The nomination applications can be emailed to ELCOfoundation@gmail.com or mailed to or dropped off at the district office at 180 Elco Drive, Myerstown.
After the deadline, nominations will be considered by a selection committee made up of members of the school community. The selection committee will choose one nominee or several to be inducted into the ELCO Education Foundation Hall of Fame.
If you are interested in serving on the selection committee, you can express your interest by contacting the foundation by Friday, May 31, via email at ELCOfoundation@gmail.com.
