The Recycling Drop-Off Center operated at 14th and Lehman streets for Lebanon city residents will be back up and running at its full hours later this week.
The center, which is available for use by residents of Lebanon County, had intermittent closures recently due to staffing shortages.
Lebanon Mayor Sherry Capello said that the center’s attendant unexpectedly and abruptly resigned due to urgent medical issues. A search for a replacement employee was immediately begun, Capello said, and that individual will begin work as soon as the hiring process is complete.
“We have had some of our other employees cover the shifts, but not all were covered,” said Capello.
However, starting Wednesday, June 19, the center will be covered for all days scheduled to be open, the mayor said.
From March 1 to Oct. 31, the Recycling Drop-Off Center is open on Wednesdays and Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., and Thursdays and Fridays from 12 to 5 p.m.
From Nov. 1 to Feb. 28, it is open on Wednesdays and Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., and Thursdays and Fridays from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Bags may only be dropped at the recycling center when it is open.
All Lebanon city residents and businesses must recycle specific items, including certain types of glass, metal, plastic, and paper, as mandated by local and state laws.
