Oscar’s Cigar & Sports Lounge in Palmyra opened its doors Friday.

Oscar’s Cigar & Sports Lounge is located at 633 W. Main St., Palmyra.

Owners Steve and Amy Zechman combined two spaces in the Cali Center to open the 3,500-square-foot lounge, featuring a walk-in humidor, a main lounge area, a golf simulator, and a VIP membership lounge.

LebTown spoke to the Zechmans in August prior to their opening. Steve Zechman told LebTown that the name is in homage to Oscar Hammerstein — a German immigrant who initially worked in a cigar factory, then climbed the ladder to become a cigar maker. Oscar also happens to be the name of the Zechmans’ family dog that passed away last year at 16.

The lounge features a high-power air filtration system along with a BYOB bar where a beverage can be enjoyed along with a cigar. Sodas, juice, and other items are available to purchase for cocktails. The lounge features a modern design with plenty of seating and TVs throughout.

“I want this to be a place where women can come in and enjoy being there as well as men,” Amy Zechman told LebTown earlier this fall.

Reached Sunday via email, Steve Zechman said that the lounge has been very busy since its opening Friday.

The lounge also features a VIP membership program for $129 per month or $179 per month with unlimited golf simulator access. Annual versions of the membership are also available at a discount compared to a monthly subscription. Among the benefits to the membership program are a personal humidor locker, two free cigars per month, 24/7 lounge access, discounts on cigars and cork fees, and priority reserved seating.

According to the lounge’s website, its hours are Monday through Wednesday, 1 to 10 p.m.; Thursday and Friday, 1 p.m. to midnight; Saturday, 11 a.m. to midnight; and Sunday, noon to 10 p.m. The website notes the lounge will also stay open later for football games on Monday and Sunday nights.
