The West Lebanon Township Board of Commissioners unanimously agreed to pass the draft 2025 budget at its meeting Monday.
The budget, with expenses and revenues both totaling $1,423,466, was passed following an opportunity for public comment. There will be no millage increase for West Lebanon Township residents.
The board also discussed the possibility of establishing a non-uniform pension plan, but noted that as it was not included in the budget, they should wait to consider it until next year.
Commissioner Michelle Testerman said her worry in adopting the state plan is that the township would be “locked in” to whatever rates are set by the state, and getting out of the state pension would be difficult.
The board also unanimously agreed to advertise an ordinance prohibiting parking on Scull Street between Webster and Washington streets, due to an incoming housing development.
Commissioners also unanimously approved the appointment of officials to various boards and positions:
- Paul Matters, Zoning Hearing Board
- John Gurganus, Board of Public Safety and Health Appeals
- Melissa Quinones, EIT tax collector committee
- Melissa Weirbach, alternate EIT tax collector committee
- Antoinette Issis, zoning officer
- Chrisland Engineering, Josh Weaber, township engineer
- Barley Snyder, Paul Bametzreider, township solicitor
In other news, the board:
- Unanimously adopted a resolution accepting the municipal solid waste processing, disposal and tipping fee rebate agreement with the Greater Lebanon Refuse Authority.
- Heard from a resident who was upset that Scott Alley, where she previously parked, was milled without her first being notified. She said her flowers were also uprooted.
- Unanimously agreed to adopt the 2025 fee schedule.
- Unanimously agreed to set the 2025 meeting dates.
- Unanimously agreed to pay bills as submitted, approve reports, and approve minutes.
The West Lebanon Township Board of Commissioners meets the first Monday of each month at 7 p.m. Meetings are open to the public and do not require prior registration.
