North Annville Township supervisors reappointed Clyde Myers as board chairman and named him roadmaster at the board’s reorganization meeting on Jan. 6. 

Aaron Miller retained his seat as vice chairman, while Adam Wolfe will remain board secretary/treasurer. Miller also will continue to serve as the supervisor representative to the township’s planning commission.

Paul Bametzreider of Barley Snyder law firm will be renamed township solicitor and Roberta Santiago of Henry & Beaver law firm will be township zoning hearing board solicitor.

Chrisland Engineering was renamed as general township engineer and Becker Engineering was reappointed to conduct sewer-related matters for the township. Additionally, Becker Engineering was appointed to complete the Chapter 94 report, which concerns municipal wasteload management, on behalf of the township. 

The trio of James Hoffman, Paul DeShong and Gary Tshudy were retained as zoning heard board members with Eric Brummer keeping his status as a  board alternate. In another move, Nelson Heagy was appointed to serve on the township’s planning commission board.

The board voted to keep Calvin Hostetter as machine operator and set his rate at $24 per hour. His job is to mow grasses along North Annville Township roadbanks. 

Another motion was approved to keep John Poff, William Smeltzer and Patrick Brewer as building code appeal board members, with Rick Horst staying as that board’s alternate. In another move, Stephan McNamara was reappointed North Annville Township emergency management coordinator for 2025.

Voted to retain their seats as North Annville Township representatives on the Lebanon County Tax Collection Committee were Bryan Hoffman as primary voting delegate and Wolfe as alternate voting delegate.

Increase the township’s fire company contributions from $17,000 to $18,000 each for Bellegrove and Union Water Works fire companies for 2025. Although the fire companies have merged and are operating as North Annville Fire Company as of Jan. 1, the former companies are maintaining their separate bank accounts until receipt of their respective annual state fire company funding grants for 2025.

In other non-board actions at the reorganization meeting, supervisors unanimously voted to: 

  • Provide a $9,000 donation to the Bellegrove Life Squad for 2025.
  • Set the treasurer’s bond at $1.5 million.
  • Agree to purchase branded clothing for members of the new fire company at a cost of $3,375.
  • Donate $13,000 to Annville Free Library. Payments are divided into an annual payment of $8,000 and an installment of $5,000 for the library’s expansion project.
  • Give a $5,000 annual donation to the Lebanon County Farmland Preservation program.
  • Rename Fulton Bank and PLGIT as financial institutions for 2025.
  • Accept the minutes of their Jan. 2, 2024, reorganization meeting.

The next regularly scheduled meeting of the North Annville Township supervisors is on Monday, Jan. 13 at 7:30 p.m. in Union Water Works social hall, 2875 Waterworks Way, Annville. Township supervisors meet the second Monday of each month.
