Lebanon Federal Credit Union proudly announced the winners of its annual Teacher of the Year awards, recognizing two exceptional educators for their dedication to students and their contributions to the community.

Teacher of the Year: Kristen Hummer

A STEM teacher at Northern Lebanon Elementary School, Mrs. Hummer received $1,000 for herself and $1,000 for her school. With 12 years of teaching experience, she has made a significant impact as a role model, particularly for young girls in STEM. Formerly a 2nd and 5th-grade teacher, Mrs. Hummer now shares her passion for science, technology, engineering, and math with K-6 students. Known for her selflessness and inclusivity, she actively supports her school community, plans lessons for her church’s children’s ministry, and inspires students with her kindness and creativity. Her ability to connect personally with students and families makes her an invaluable asset to education.

Runner-Up: Holly Hartman

Holly Hartman, an accounting teacher at ELCO High School, received $500 for herself and $500 for her school. A dedicated mentor and coach, she is instrumental in fostering student success both in the classroom and beyond. Ms. Hartman leads the RaiderThon program, which raises over $10,000 annually, and coaches multiple sports, including track, volleyball, and cross country.
