The Lebanon County Register of Wills and Clerk of Orphans’ Court has announced his bid for a third term in office.

Brian Craig, who was previously elected to the post in 2017 and 2021, has announced he will seek the Republican nomination for re-election in 2025.

“It’s an honor assisting the people of Lebanon County with their marriage, probate and guardianship needs,” Craig said in a release.

According to the Lebanon County website, the Register of Wills and the Clerk of Orphans’ Court (a dual position) is tasked with “court-related administration” in matters of marriage, guardianship, adoption, and probates and estates, as well as records keeping, among other responsibilities.

Craig, of Palmyra, earned a bachelor’s degree in public policy from Penn State, served on Palmyra Borough Council and was former Republican Congressman Charlie Dent’s Lebanon County coordinator.

According to the release, the Register of Wills office since 2021 has increased budgeted revenue by 17 percent, or $70,000, without any increase in fees. During the same period, operating expenses grew by $1,053.

“I believe in doing everything possible to keep Lebanon County taxes low,” Craig said in the statement.

The office also developed virtual probate and marriage application processes, made files available online, and plans to begin digitizing microfilm archives later this year, Craig said in a press release.

An Air Force veteran and father of three, Craig is a member of the Palmyra VFW, the National Rifle Association, and the Lebanon County chapter of the Pennsylvania Pro-Life Federation. He attends Lives Changed By Christ Church in Lebanon, is an assistant leader of his daughters’ Girl Scout Troop 70430, and is chairman of the Palmyra Borough Vacancy Board.
