The Lebanon County MH/ID/EI Program will host two comprehensive trauma-informed care workshops on July 29, led by certified trainer Jayne Miller. The sessions, taking place at 220 East Lehman Street, will provide professionals with tools to address traumatic childhood experiences and their lasting impacts.
The morning session, Trauma 101, running from 9 a.m. to noon, will focus on building foundational knowledge about trauma and its complex effects. The afternoon session, Trauma 102, scheduled for 1-4 p.m., will expand on these concepts and offer practical skills for working with trauma-affected individuals.

Miller, a Social Service Specialist with the Arches to Wellness Program at WellSpan, brings over 20 years of experience to the workshops. Her training highlights research showing that 67% of the population has experienced at least one adverse childhood experience, which can lead to long-term physical, mental, and social challenges.
While the workshops are free, registration is required. Interested participants should email Monica.Boyer@lebanoncountypa.gov to register, noting which session they plan to attend. Those interested in the advanced afternoon session must provide proof of completing Trauma 101.
The program aligns with broader county efforts to enhance mental health awareness and intervention strategies within the community.
