Lebanon Federal Credit Union is proud to announce Frank William Stellar as the recipient of its 2025 Hometown Hero Award.

Stellar, a lifelong resident of Lebanon County, will celebrate his 101st birthday on September 5, 2025. A proud World War II veteran, he served in the Army Air Corps beginning in 1943, spending two years in Europe supporting infantry operations before being stationed in England for training as the war came to a close.
Following his military service, Stellar returned home and worked nearly three decades at the Cornwall Ore Mines, where he advanced to head miner. He later joined the Pennsylvania State Highway Department, retiring in 1986.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Stellar’s life has been devoted to family and community. He and his late wife, Susan, shared nearly 71 years of marriage, and he continues to be a dedicated father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.

Stellar has also been a fixture at the Lebanon YMCA for more than 57 years, where he continues to work out three times a week. His commitment to fitness and healthy living has made him both the YMCA’s oldest and longest-tenured member.
In recent years, Stellar has been recognized widely for his service and community spirit. He has marched in the Lebanon Memorial Day Parade, been featured on local news stations, and was honored as the Hometown Hero at a Philadelphia Phillies game earlier this year. He also returned to Belgium with fellow veterans to revisit the site of the Battle of the Bulge.

“At Lebanon Federal Credit Union, our motto is ‘People Helping People’—and Frank Stellar’s life is a shining example of that,” said Wendy Kalbach, Chief Relationship Officer. “His service to our country, his dedication to Lebanon County, and his commitment to family and community truly embody what it means to be a Hometown Hero.”
Lebanon Federal Credit Union is honored to present the 2025 Hometown Hero Award to Frank William Stellar in recognition of his remarkable service, strength, and community pride.
