Update Sept. 10 – In a Facebook post Wednesday, Sept. 10, Lawn Fire Company said that although there’s no longer an emergency at Weaber Lumber, the smoke, steam, and flame will be visible for the coming days. Over 30 fire companies from five counties assisted in fighting the fire.

“Sincere thank you to all Fire, EMS, Police, and Salvation Army personnel that assisted with this large incident,” said Lawn Fire Company chief Dylan Wilson in the statement.

An overnight three-alarm fire at Weaber Lumber on the 1200 block of Mount Wilson Road in South Annville Township has taken more than 1.1 million gallons of water and it’s still not quenched, officials told WGAL on Tuesday morning.

WGAL spoke to Lawn Fire Company Chief Dillon Wilson, who said that approximately 1.1 million gallons of water have been used from the on-site hydrant system to combat the fire, as well as additional water brought in by tankers.

“It got ahead of us,” Wilson told WGAL, with most of the buildings engulfed upon the arrival of fire crews. Wilson told WGAL the building at Weaber Lumber might have the most combustible materials under one roof in the state.

According to WGAL, the fire has yet to be brought under control, and hot spots are expected for several days. Detours are in place along Mount Wilson Road, with reports of an additional detour on Route 241 earlier today.

No injuries have been reported. Lebanon County dispatch logs show initial calls about the fire around 10 p.m. Monday. According to FOX43, a maintenance worker was inside the building at the time of the fire and evacuated safely.

In August, Weaber Lumber filed for bankruptcy protection “to reorganize our finances and emerge as a stronger, more competitive company,” according to a company spokesperson.
