A 47-year-old Union Township man has been charged for a burglary last week at Linda’s Speedway.
Cleona Borough Police announced on Thursday, Sept. 11, that charges have been filed against Gregory Anspach in connection with the crime.
Court records show that Anspach was charged with burglary, criminal trespass, and theft by unlawful taking. He was arraigned Wednesday in front of Magisterial District Judge Anthony J. Verna and remanded to Lebanon County Correctional Facility in lieu of bail, which was set at $75,000.
In a press release, police said the department was dispatched to Linda’s Speedway on Silvertown Road, Union Township, on Sept. 4 for a report of a burglary and theft. Police said the business decided to install a security system because of the incident.
On Sept. 7, Linda Speedway reported a second burglary and theft, police said, with this one captured on the surveillance system. Police said the victim recognized the suspect, and that several thousand dollars in cash had been stolen.
Cleona police said Anspach was arrested at his home in Union Township on Wednesday.
“The subject confessed to the crime,” police said in the news release.
Anspach has a preliminary hearing scheduled for Thursday, Sept. 18, at 8:30 a.m. in front of Magisterial District Judge John W. Ditzler.
