Weekend Forecast: A few snow showers possible Friday evening

Good, mild Friday morning!

Friday’s daytime high temperature was achieved this morning ahead of a powerful cold front that traversed our region around 7 a.m. Temperatures as of 5 a.m. were in the lower 50s with steady rain.

As this cold front advances overhead, it brings with it rumbles of thunder and very windy conditions with 20 to 30 mph sustained with gusts over 50 mph at times and very heavy downpours.

Behind the front, temperatures will crash as we will be below freezing by 4 p.m. Windy conditions will continue into late Friday evening with 15 to 25 mph sustained with gusts nearing 40 mph at times. Wind chills will feel like we are in the teens! A few snow showers are possible mid-evening.

Saturday will feature a mix of sun and clouds with much calmer conditions. The daytime high will top out in the mid-30s.

Sunday will feature the return of breezy conditions under a mix of sun and clouds with temperatures topping out in the lower 40s.
