Bethel Township

Vehicle accident – At 5:58 a.m. Dec. 9, a 2017 Toyota Corolla driven by a 36-year-old Harrisburg man was traveling south on Mount Zion Road when it entered the oncoming lane of travel and struck a northbound 2008 Hyundai Accent driven by a 32-year-old Lebanon woman, accompanied by a 59-year-old Lebanon woman. All occupants were wearing seatbelts, sustained injuries of unknown severity, and were transported to Hershey Medical Center for treatment. Police charged the man with driving on right side of roadway. The Mount Zion Fire Company, First Aid and Safety Patrol of Lebanon, Myerstown EMS, and Life Lion EMS assisted on the scene.

Theft by deception – At 2:44 p.m. Dec. 15, police were contacted by an individual who was the victim of a phone scam. According to police, someone contacted a 58-year-old Lebanon man via text message promising to send him over $300,000 if he could send over money via Zelle and Bitcoin to cover “transfer fees.” The man sent transfer fees totaling $60,000 over the next few weeks before he realized he was being scammed.

Vehicle accident – At 1:43 p.m. Dec. 18, a 2007 Kia Sportage driven by an 80-year-old Myerstown man was stopped in the northbound lane of Mount Zion Road, south of Prescott Road, in a work zone for tree trimming. A 2011 Lincoln MKX driven by a 73-year-old Valley View man was unable to stop before rear-ending the Kia. Both vehicles sustained minor damage but could be driven from the scene. The driver of the Lincoln was wearing a seatbelt and sustained no injuries. The driver of the Kia was wearing a seatbelt, sustained a suspected minor injury, and was transported by Myerstown First Aid Unit to WellSpan Good Samaritan Hospital for an evaluation. The Mount Zion Fire Company and Fire Police and the Myerstown EMS assisted on the scene.

City of Lebanon

Drug possession – On Sept. 22, police responded to a report of an unresponsive individual, later identified as Tyler Randler, 34. Emergency medical services were administered and Randler made a full recovery. However, police found a suspected controlled substance on Randler and sent it in for analysis. Upon receipt of the test results, police charged Randler with possession of a controlled substance.

Drug possession – Around 3:26 p.m. Dec. 14, police encountered Kione Reid, 41, who was acting erratically, appeared to be hallucinating, and admitted to having consumed a controlled substance. Police determined the substance was the likely cause of Reid’s behavior and charged Reid with possession of drug paraphernalia.

Drug possession – At 1:15 a.m. Dec. 15, police pulled over a vehicle on the 1100 block of Cumberland Street and identified the driver as Calijah Frescatore, 24. A search of the vehicle yielded a controlled substance and other items related to narcotics, and police charged Frescatore with narcotic and traffic violations.

DUI – Police charged Lillian Rivera, 51, with DUI-alcohol, stemming from a traffic stop at around 2 a.m. Sept. 28 on the 00 block of North 10th Street.

Theft from a motor vehicle – Lebanon City Police are requesting the public’s assistance in identifying the following subjects regarding a theft from a motor vehicle. Anyone with information is asked to contact Officer Derolf or submit a tip through CRIMEWATCH.

Congratulations, welcome, and good luck – The Lebanon City Police Department is pleased to announce that Detective Ryan Mong has been promoted to the rank of sergeant for the Criminal Division. Mong has served the police for 21 years, and his extensive experience, hard work, and dedication have been invaluable. The department is proud of his accomplishments and looks forward to what he will accomplish in his new role.

The police department is also excited to welcome Patrolman Matthew Rothgaber, who graduated from the Harrisburg Area Community College Police Academy in 2016 and will now begin 18 weeks of field training with the department.

In addition, the police department congratulates its new hire, Denver Meier, who will attend the HACC Police Academy on Monday, Jan. 12, to complete Act 120 training.

Police would like to extend their sincere appreciation to the James Biever Police-Community Alliance for its continued support in helping send new hires to the academy.

Heidelberg Township

Vehicle accident – At 1:59 p.m. Nov. 24, a westbound 2019 Nissan Sentra on Reistville Road was approaching the stop sign at Route 501, and a 2011 Peterbilt Truck was traveling north on Route 501. The Nissan driver failed to yield the right-of-way after stopping, and the vehicles collided. The Nissan sustained damage to its rear quarter panel, rear bumper, and rear window. The Peterbilt sustained damage to its front bumper. Neither vehicle required towing. No injuries were reported. Charges of failure to yield at a yield sign against the driver of the Nissan are pending investigation.

Jackson Township

Vehicle accident – At 9:07 a.m. Dec. 8, a 2018 Ford Escape driven by a 48-year-old Myerstown woman, accompanied by a 16-year-old Myerstown juvenile, and a 2004 John Deere 7820 driven by an 18-year-old Myerstown man were traveling east on Elco Drive. The Ford attempted to pass the John Deere as it was turning left into a driveway but struck the vehicle, then exited the road and struck a fence. The Ford sustained disabling damage and was towed from the scene. The John Deere sustained functional damage and was driven from the scene. None of the occupants sustained injuries or required medical attention.

Lebanon County Regional

Simple assault – At 11:20 a.m. Dec. 13, police responded to Weavertown Terrace Apartments in North Lebanon Township after a 17-year-old female assaulted a family member. Police charged the juvenile with misdemeanor simple assault.

DUI – At 5:25 p.m. Nov. 15, police responded to a disturbance/DUI on the 100 block of Robert Circle in North Lebanon Township after Brittany Arnold, 37, operated a vehicle with a juvenile passenger while under the influence of alcohol. Police arrested Arnold and charged her with two counts of misdemeanor DUI-alcohol or a controlled substance.

Leaving child unattended in vehicle – At 3:31 p.m. Dec. 12, police responded to the 2100 block of Center Street in North Cornwall Township, where a 32-year-old woman left three children in a vehicle unattended and out of sight with the engine running under circumstances endangering the health, safety, or welfare of the children. Police charged the woman with summary leaving child unattended in vehicle.

Millcreek Township

Simple assault – At 9:46 a.m. Dec. 15, Rhiannon Trego, 26, of Newmanstown, assaulted a 29-year-old Newmanstown man, causing minor lacerations to his right cheekbone and eye. Police took Trego into custody without incident and transported her to LCCB for arraignment. Police charged Trego with misdemeanor simple assault.

Vehicle accident – At 8:44 a.m. Dec. 5, a 2015 Chevrolet Tahoe driven by a 34-year-old Newmanstown woman was traveling south on South Sheridan Road. A 2017 Lexus RX350 driven by a 36-year-old Newmanstown woman was stopped at a stop sign on Edgemont Lane, waiting to turn right onto South Sheridan Road. The Chevrolet failed to stay in its lane of travel, turning left onto Edgemont Lane and striking the Lexus. The Chevrolet sustained disabling damage. The Lexus sustained functional damage. The driver of the Chevrolet, who was wearing a seatbelt, said she had a minor hand injury but declined treatment by EMS staff. The driver of the Lexus, who was wearing a seatbelt, said she was not injured.

North Londonderry Township

Vehicle accident – At 5:02 p.m. Dec. 10, police investigated a crash on the 1000 block of North Forge Road in which a vehicle driven by a 24-year-old Lebanon woman struck the rear of a vehicle driven by a 17-year-old Palmyra male juvenile. No injuries were reported. The woman’s vehicle was towed from the scene. Police charged the woman with following too closely and driving while suspended-subsequent convictions.

South Lebanon Township

Abuse of a care-dependent person – Marisol Hoopengarner, a 50-year-old female certified nursing assistant at Cedar Haven Healthcare Center, is facing charges of abuse of a care-dependent person after the woman allegedly used a water spray bottle on Nov. 27 to spray a resident in a dementia unit to keep the resident in a specific location.

DUI – Around 2:08 a.m. Nov. 9, police responded to a crash on South 5th Avenue at Flintville Road. Brayden Martin, 26, was the driver of a vehicle found to be under the influence of alcohol with a BAC of 0.222%. Police charged Martin with misdemeanor DUI-general impairment and misdemeanor DUI-highest rate of alcohol.

Simple assault – On Dec. 17, police responded to a disturbance on the 300 block of Wheatstone Lane and arrested Mattao Bertino, 25, for misdemeanor simple assault.

Drug possession – On Dec. 18, police pulled over a vehicle on the 500 block of East Cumberland Street and apprehended two people in the vehicle on outstanding warrants. Police found Jean Encarnacian-Arroyo, 32, to be in possession of a small amount of marijuana and charged Encarnacian-Arroyo with misdemeanor possession of a small amount of marijuana for personal use.

Loitering or prowling at night, disorderly conduct – At 3:12 a.m. Dec. 19, police received multiple calls from residents on the 1000 block of Weiss and Klein avenues, reporting a suspicious individual trespassing on their properties. Police found the individual, Bryce Culp, 21, to be intoxicated and arrested him, took him to LCCB, and charged him with misdemeanor loitering and prowling at night and misdemeanor disorderly conduct.

Swatara Township

Vehicle accident – At 8:59 a.m. Dec. 18, a 2018 Toyota Rav4 driven by a 38-year-old Lebanon man was traveling south on South Mill Street, approaching East Market Street. A 2023 Bluebird International Bus driven by a 74-year-old Lebanon man was traveling west on East Market Street. The Toyota driver failed to stop at the intersection of South Mill and East Market streets and struck the passenger’s side of the bus. Both vehicles sustained disabling damage. The Toyota was towed from the scene by Joe May’s. The bus was towed from the scene by Blatt & Tillett. The driver of the Toyota was wearing a seatbelt, sustained an injury of unknown severity, and was transported via Life Lion EMS to Hershey Medical Center. The bus driver was wearing a seatbelt and sustained no injuries. Charges of duties at a stop sign against the driver of the Toyota are pending investigation.

Western Lebanon County Regional

Underage drinking – Police charged a 20-year-old Scranton woman, a 19-year-old Archibald woman, a 19-year-old Scranton resident, and a 17-year-old Moosic female with underage drinking for an incident at around 9:25 p.m. Dec. 8 on the 200 block of West Pajabon Drive in Palmyra.

Confinement of dog on premises – Police charged a 60-year-old Annville woman with confinement of dog on premises and failure to obtain license for an incident at around 10:45 a.m. Nov. 29 on the 200 block of Horseshoe Drive in Annville.

DUI, traffic violation – At 8:27 p.m. Oct. 26, police pulled over a vehicle on the 900 block of East Main Street in Palmyra for a moving violation and found that the driver, Erin Anderson, 29, was under the influence of alcohol. A toxicology report showed that Anderson’s BAC was 0.157% at the time. Charges of misdemeanor DUI-high rate of alcohol, misdemeanor DUI-incapable of safe driving, and a summary traffic violation were filed.

DUI, driving while suspended – Charges of misdemeanor DUI-high rate of alcohol, second offense, misdemeanor DUI-general impairment, second offense, and misdemeanor driving while suspended, DUI-related, third offense, were filed against Michael Robinson, 34, after a traffic stop at 3:12 p.m. Nov. 5 on the 100 block of East Maple Street in Palmyra.
