Quittapahilla Audubon Society Field Trip at Middle Creek Wildlife Management Area

On Friday, Jan. 2, the Quittapahilla Audubon Society will head to the Middle Creek Wildlife Management Area for a second new year walk to kick off your birding year. Meet at 10 a.m. at the visitor center parking lot.

Forever Flower Workshop – Frosted Flower at Drunken Smithy

Smithing isn’t all iron and steel. At Drunken Smithy, we work with soft metals, too!
Join us for an introduction to the art of metalworking by creating your own everlasting bloom in our forever flower workshop featuring a different flower every month. You’ll learn to design, cut, texture, and build your own copper flower with the freedom to customize your work along the way.
For this workshop, students will learn to make a copper frosted flower.
The workshop will take place regardless of the number of tickets sold. No minimum number of participants is required. All raw materials, tools, gloves, and safety glasses will be provided. All experience levels are welcome. Instructors will help as much or as little as you’d like. Participants must wear closed-toe shoes or boots.
Forever flowers fee per person for this workshop is $75.00 total.
Drunken Smithy is wheelchair-friendly and welcomes participants of all ability levels. The only restriction we have is that oxygen tanks are not permitted in our forging area or the copper and silver workshop areas.
Live Music with Abigail’s Garden at Mead Hall at Drunken Smithy

Join us for a night of live music featuring the enchanting sounds of Abigail’s Garden! Enjoy a cozy evening filled with rich harmonies, good vibes, and handcrafted drinks in the glow of the forge.
This event is free and open to all. No ticket is required. Outside food is welcome.

Lebanon Deanery’s Twelfth Night Concert at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church

The Lebanon Deanery’s sixth annual Twelfth Night Concert will be held on Epiphany Sunday, Jan. 4, at 3 p.m., in the sanctuary at Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish in Cornwall. This free concert features Advent and Christmas selections by music ministries from across the Lebanon Deanery and beyond – several choirs, bands, and ensembles will share their talents. Come for a beautiful afternoon of music!

Dining with Diabetes at Penn State Extension of Lebanon County
$39.00 | 2-4 p.m., Thursday, January 8 | 2120 Cornwall Road, Suite 1, Lebanon
Dining with Diabetes is a program for adults with type 2 diabetes or prediabetes and their families. These classes will help you understand some of the most important things you need to know about managing your diabetes.
Trained Penn State Extension educators will lead discussions addressing:
– Important numbers you need to know and physical activity recommendations
– Meal planning and carbohydrate counting
– Healthy cooking with less fat and sodium
– Medications, monitoring and goal setting
– How to eat wisely while dining out
Four consecutive classes are held with a three-month follow-up. Each class offers discussions regarding vital information to help you manage your diabetes, food demonstrations, and physical activity suggestions. In addition to program booklets, participants will receive the Dining with Diabetes cookbook and course handouts.
If you have been told that you have type 2 diabetes or prediabetes, you will want to attend this class!
Space is limited. Pre-registration is required!
