LebTown features a different Lebanon County pet each Friday to help us enter the weekend with the best vibes possible.
Our Pet of the Week sometimes is a local furbaby who already lives in a happy Lebanon County home. Other times the weekly column will spotlight an animal that’s available for adoption through a local shelter and is seeking a forever family.
This week, meet adoptable Ficus!
“Ficus was recently brought back to us after nearly two years in her former home,” a shelter rep at the Humane Society of Lebanon County told LebTown. “She is currently on a weight loss journey as she is around 20 pounds. Due to her being overweight, she has been unable to groom herself resulting in fur matting, hence why we did have to shave her coat.
“Due to all of these recent stressful events, Ficus is a little bit shut down in the shelter environment. She is definitely coming around and we see improvements everyday, but we would really like to see this girl in a loving home!”
Ficus “can get a little hissy” with other cats sometimes, but she does okay with them overall, the shelter noted. “If she were to go to a home with other cats we would definitely recommend a slow introduction.”
If you are interested in adopting Ficus, please fill out the adoption application online at lebanonhumane.org or call the Humane Society at 717-628-1369 for more information.
