The Lebanon County Coalition to End Homelessness has extended the ongoing Code Blue Alert until 10 a.m. Friday, Jan. 30.
The Code Blue Alert began Monday afternoon. The coalition said in a statement that it was being extended past its original Thursday, Jan. 22, end date due to continued extreme cold temperatures and the possibility for significant snowfall this weekend.
The National Weather Service in State College has yet to issue its forecast for this weekend, but Lebanon County Weather is predicting a powerhouse storm entering our region early Sunday morning and continuing into Monday, with the potential for a foot or more of snow. Single-digit lows are expected overnight early next week.
Any individuals or families who are unsheltered are encouraged to contact the Lebanon County Community Action Partnership for assistance in finding temporary overnight accommodations.
The Lebanon County Community Action Partnership can be reached Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. by phone at 717-273-9328 or in person at 220 E. Lehman St., Lebanon.
