The Lebanon Valley Mall will host the inaugural Lebanon County Volunteer Fair from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 24.
This free community event will provide a centralized hub for residents to explore diverse service opportunities with dozens of local nonprofit organizations, according to a press release from Bonner Davis, volunteer coordinator for AAA.
“You’ll see it’s quite a cross-section of our community,” Davis said in an email to LebTown. “Registration just opened, we’re currently half-full and I anticipate we’ll have a waiting list within a few days as the word gets out.”
Tables can be reserved by any Lebanon County nonprofit that currently has volunteer opportunities available.
As the first event of its kind in the county, the Volunteer Fair aims to bridge the gap between community members eager to give back and organizations in need of support. Attendees will have the opportunity to meet directly with representatives from sectors including senior services, youth mentorship, veteran support, animal welfare, and environmental conservation.
“Whether you are a student seeking service hours, a retiree looking to stay active, or a professional wanting to share your skills, this fair offers a pathway to meaningful involvement,” Deborah Hornick of United Way of Lebanon County said in the release. “Our goal is to showcase the incredible breadth of service work happening right here in Lebanon County.”
The event will feature a live broadcast by Froggy Radio at the Fountain Stage from 10 a.m. to noon, including live interviews with participating nonprofits to highlight their missions. The mall is providing up to 50 tables for the fair, and mall businesses have sponsored door prize raffles that will be awarded to attendees throughout the event.
The Lebanon County Volunteer Fair is open to the public and requires no prior registration. More information about the event and a list of participating organizations is available online. To reserve a table, review the available slots on the website and click on a button to sign up.
