The secret is officially out, and coffee lovers across Lebanon Valley are invited to sip, explore, and discover what makes the Visit Lebanon Valley Java Journey one of the region’s most beloved winter traditions.
Now underway and running through March 28, the Java Journey features 14 local cafés, each crafting an exclusive “secret drink” available only to participants. Purchasing the official Java Journey mug and passport set unlocks access to these one-of-a-kind beverages, offering drinks you won’t find on the regular menu.
Each café takes great pride in designing their secret drink, using the Journey as an opportunity to get extra creative. From cozy classics to bold and unexpected flavor combinations like the Furry Fig Latte at The Perky Shepherd Coffee or Timeless Café’s Traditional Bicerin—a base of thick, rich hot chocolate, a middle layer of hot espresso, and a top layer of cream. All 14 drinks offer distinct flavor profiles, giving journey-goers a true taste of Lebanon Valley’s diverse and passionate coffee culture.

“The Java Journey is perfect for Galentine or Valentine’s Day coffee crawls,” said Nancy Gates, President & CEO of Visit Lebanon Valley. “Whether spending time with your sweetheart or catching up with friends, the Journey invites participants to slow down, sip something special, and share the experience together.”
As participants travel from café to café collecting passport stamps, they’re also invited to vote for their favorite drink. At the end of the Journey, the café with the most votes will earn the coveted Java Journey Trophy, which they’ll proudly display until the next Journey begins.

There’s still plenty of time to jump in. Mugs and passports are still available, and there is ample opportunity to visit all 14 locations before the Journey wraps up on March 28. Participants are encouraged to check each café’s hours of operation, as hours may vary by location.
Adding to the excitement, participating cafés will be offering extended hours and special promotions during First Fridays in February and March, making it even easier to plan stops and enjoy the Journey with friends, or a special someone.

The Java Journey is more than a coffee crawl: it’s a celebration of local creativity, community pride, and a meaningful way to support Lebanon Valley’s small businesses while discovering hidden gems right in your own backyard.
