In the Net Sports Complex is excited to announce the addition of the Central Penn Batmen.
The East Coast Collegiate Baseball League (ECCBL) is gaining a new team for the 2026 season. In the Net’s Central Penn BatMen will join the other 11 teams based in Eastern Pennsylvania and New Jersey.
The ECCBL is a high-level summer wood-bat league providing top-tier competition for college enrolled players.
With the season running from June through August, the CPB will play 28 games consisting of five weekends with double-headers and the remaining, mid-week games. In the Net will serve as the CPB’s home field.
Central Penn College’s Head Baseball Coach, Charles ‘Chaz’ Stevens, will join the CPB as the Head Coach. As a three-year varsity starter, Chaz later led his alma mater, Central Dauphin High School for two years before climbing collegiate ladder.
“I’m extremely grateful for the opportunity to lead the Central Penn Batmen and be part of something that directly serves our local baseball community,” said Stevens. “The Mid-Penn area consistently produces a large number of players who go on to compete at the college level each year, and this franchise provides a local option for those athletes to play at a high level during the summer.”
Along with Chaz, Chris Clayton will serve as the General Manager. Clayton will work with the League, In the Net, and the coaching staff to coordinate game operations, schedules, rosters, finances, travel, communication, publicity, and league compliance to help ensure everything is organized and on time.
“As a coach and parent in the area for the last decade plus, I have come to realize that there is a real need for a collegiate summer team in this area to give a very strong group of players that come from central PA the opportunity to live at home over the summer and compete in a high level of summer collegiate baseball,” Clayton explained.
In the Net is excited to offer this team the opportunity to continue their play through the summer.
