The Mount Gretna International Film Festival will host a “Short & Sweet” film screening, a showcase of acclaimed short films from the festival’s 2025 international selections, at a special event on Saturday, Feb. 28.

The event will run from 4 to 6:15 p.m. at Englewood Hershey in Hummelstown.

The festival – or Mt.GIFF – invites film lovers, creators, and community members to enjoy the curated program of “award-honored independent short films representing diverse voices and styles from around the world,” according to a press release. The mid-year screening offers audiences “a rare opportunity to experience the artistry and ingenuity of short filmmaking in an engaging and intimate setting.”

Mt.GIFF committee member Vicki Deitzler said that “Englewood’s state-of-the-art sound and screening venue, will showcase the work of our talented independent filmmakers giving our audience an exceptional entertainment experience.” The presentation, Deitzler added, includes “tasty bites and sips along with feel-good vibes as we celebrate films full of heart, humor, and a little bit of horror.”

Tickets are $25 in advance or $30 at the door. Proceeds benefit Mt.GIFF’s mission “to honor the creative legacy of filmmaker Michael Evan Deitzler and sustain a vibrant platform for emerging and established filmmakers.”

Doors open at 4 p.m., with a “mix and mingle” reception from 4 to 4:45, including appetizers and a signature drink. Films will be screened from 4:45 to 6:15 p.m.

“Short & Sweet” is designed for mature audiences, organizers say, as film content “may include challenging themes and viewer discretion is advised.” For more information or to purchase tickets, visit the Mt.GIFF website or the event page on Eventbrite.

The 2026 Mount Gretna International Film Festival is scheduled for August. 15-16.
