Lebanon County’s annual tire collection will be held from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday, April 29, at the Lebanon Expo Center, 80 Rocherty Road, Lebanon.
Registration is open until April 13. Funding is available on a first-come basis, so anyone hoping to participate is encouraged to sign up now, according to Lydia Mohn, the Lebanon County Conservation District’s mosquito-borne disease control program coordinator for Lebanon and Lancaster counties.
The collection is free to Lebanon County residents only, and participants must bring proof of address, such as a driver’s license or telephone bill. Anyone from outside of the county or from a tire-related business must pay to dispose of tires.
According to an event flyer, tires must be “off the rim, drained of water, unburned, and not excessively dirty.”
Individuals can turn in 10 auto tires or one oversized tire for free, “as long as funds are available in your municipality,” the flyer explains. Once funds are depleted, a charge of $4 per auto tire and $40 per oversized (25 inches or larger) tire will be imposed.
