Lebanon County author Valerie Van Orman released her poignant debut novel, “Helen of Holliday’s Cove”, on March 2.

This dual-timeline historical fiction shows that the past isn’t gone – it reaches beyond the veil to protect us. The novel, published by Tehom Center Publishing, is already creating a buzz among early readers and is available for order at ValerieVanOrman.com.
Across generations, two lives intertwine through loss, love, and an unseen bond. In the early 1900s, Helen McCulloch’s dreams of family and adventure are upended by tragedy. Nearly a century later, preteen Beth Herlemann begins seeing a ghostly woman in a brown dress, a presence both haunting and protective. “Helen of Holliday’s Cove” is about resilience, connection, and how women’s stories echo through time to guide those who come after.
A book release event is being held Saturday at 1:30 p.m. at the Hershey Area Playhouse, 830 Cherry Drive, on the grounds of Country Meadows. This event will feature book signings, author Q&A, a free basket raffle, light refreshments, and book readings with Valerie Van Orman and several talented actors from the local theatre community: Amy Jo Brixius, Dara Boden, Jasmine Bucher, Roxanne Hennessey, Emily Hershey, Danielle Klinger-Grumbine, Mike Ritter, and Travis Zimmerman.
The event is free and open to the public. Books will be available to purchase at a discounted price.
Van Orman will follow-up this event with book signings at Cupboard Maker Books, 157 N. Enola Road in Enola, on March 22, 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. and the Lebanon Community Library, 125 N. 7th Street in Lebanon, on March 30, 5:30 – 8:00 p.m.
