The Penn State Extension Master Gardeners of Lebanon County will hold their annual Plant Sale & Garden Faire on Saturday, May 2, from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.
The sale, which has a theme of “Right Plant, Right Place, Right Practice,” will be held in the Brightbill Barn at the Lebanon Expo Center, 80 Rocherty Road, according to a release.
“The sale offers a variety of plants and gardening essentials to help you create a thriving garden,” the release says. “The theme of ‘Right Plant, Right Place, Right Practice’ emphasizes the importance of choosing plants that are suited to your garden’s environment and using sustainable practices to support a healthy, beautiful garden.”
The sale will feature a wide selection of native plants, annuals, perennials, tomatoes, peppers, vegetables, and herbs that’s “perfect for gardeners of all skill levels,” the release says. “Whether you’re an experienced horticulturist or just starting your gardening journey, you’ll find plants that thrive in the Lebanon County climate and tips on how to make them flourish in your own space.”
The event this year also includes a “green elephant” section with “gently used” gardening items, tools, and plants, as well as on-site gardening advice from certified Master Gardeners to help with selecting the right plants and providing proper care for them. The release notes that plants are available “that are suitable for all types of gardens, from sunny spots to shaded corners, and from small urban plots to larger landscapes.”
Cash, check, and credit card payments are accepted for purchases. Proceeds benefit the Penn State Extension Master Gardener Program, which provides educational resources and community outreach initiatives throughout Lebanon County.
