The Penn State Extension Master Gardeners of Lebanon County invite community members to an engaging, in‑person workshop, “Designing Your Outside Garden Room,” on Saturday, April 11, 2026, from 8:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Lebanon County Career and Technology Center, located at 833 Metro Drive, Lebanon.

This hands‑on educational program is designed to help gardeners reimagine and enhance their outdoor spaces with intention and creativity. Participants will gain practical knowledge, inspiration, and take‑home resources to help bring a personalized “garden room” concept to life—whether starting from scratch or refining an existing landscape.

During the workshop, Master Gardeners will guide attendees through key principles of successful garden design, blending science with creative expression. Topics covered include:

  • The science of plant life cycles and basic propagation methods
  • Understanding the “why” behind your garden’s purpose
  • Design basics of a garden room, including:
    • Blending personal style with sound design concepts
    • Selecting a cohesive and functional plant palette
    • Incorporating non‑living elements that enhance structure and usability
  • A preview of exciting new plant selections featured at the 2026 Master Gardener Plant Sale, to be held at the Lebanon Expo on Saturday, May 2

This workshop is ideal for home gardeners of all experience levels who want to create outdoor spaces that are both beautiful and functional. The cost is $30, which includes materials for planning your garden design, along with seeds and plant cuttings.
