The Camp Rocky Creek Van Chaperone/Counselor will fill the role of van chaperone in conjunction with the camp counselor role, beginning each morning with a pickup at the Lebanon YMCA at approximately 7 a.m.

This is a full-time, seasonal position that begins in late May and runs through mid-August. The position is scheduled Monday – Friday with two van runs morning and afternoon each day. Shift times are approximate, as they may vary based on the number of students present each day and traffic conditions.

Van Duties Include:

  • Serve as a role model with age appropriate engagement with campers
  • Ensure all campers are safely secured in van
  • Perform head counts on each van run
  • Control van atmosphere as to not distract the van driver
  • A high level of reliability, patience, and strong communication skills are expected
  • Current First Aid and CPR certification required

Camp Counselor Duties Include:

  • Developing, supervising, and participating in camp-wide programming activities with campers of different ages
  • Participating in training workshops held prior to camp sessions
  • Working co-operatively with other Camp Counselors to ensure campers are safe
  • Building relationships with all campers by showing compassion, empathy and understanding
  • Providing positive feedback for parents
