Agnes C. McDonnell, 89, of Lebanon, passed away on Monday, May 3, 2021, at her daughter’s home. Born in Lebanon on February 21, 1932, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Catherine (Karli) Klespis.
Agnes was a member of St. Cecilia’s Church. She served as the girls basketball coach for St. Gertrude’s for many years and was proud to be one of Notre Dame and Lebanon Catholic’s biggest sports fans. She enjoyed reading, tackling puzzle books and counted cross stitch, but without a doubt, Agnes’ best moments were spent with her family.
She is survived by ten children, Michael McDonnell and his wife Sheila, Marilyn Reed, Allen McDonnell and his wife Brenda, Catherine Krause and her husband Paul, Anthony McDonnell and his wife Kim, Jeffrey McDonnell, Terri Warfield, Margaret “Maggie” Fortna and her husband, Steve, Joseph McDonnell and his wife Ann, and Patricia Gangl and her husband Tom, two sisters, Johanna Krizan and Barbara Aiduk, 23 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Christine (McDonnell) Schriver.
A viewing will be held on Thursday, May 6th from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Thompson Funeral Home, Inc., 126 South 9th Street in Lebanon, and on Friday morning, May 7th from 10:00-11:00 a.m. at St. Cecilia’s Church, 120 East Lehman Street in Lebanon. A Mass of Christian Burial being celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at St. Gertrude’s Cemetery.
