Albert R. “Al” Garis, 71, of Annville, passed away on Saturday, July 25, 2026, at home. He was the husband of Nancy E. Care, to whom he was married for 10 years.

Born in Lebanon, he was a son of Miriam Beard and raised by his adopted parents, Donald “Pete” Garis and Lois Garis LeGay. Al was a 1973 graduate of Annville-Cleona High School and was owner/operator of Al Garis Automotive in Annville. He was a member of the NRA, enjoyed antiques, and was a Harley-Davidson enthusiast. Al’s hobbies included riding his Harley and working in his shop.

In addition to his wife, Nancy, he is survived by his sons, Jason Garis, and wife, Ashley, and Jeremy Garis; step-daughter, Nicole Shifflett; grandchildren, Austin, Zoee, and Liberty Garis; step-grandchildren, Ayzia Hoyer and Jadyn Missimer; step-great-grandchildren, Julian and Charlie Rae Hoyer; brother, Les Garis; and sister, Jeanne Perin. Al was preceded in death by his brother, Robert Posey; and sisters, Debbie Beard and Patsy Beard.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, Aug. 4, 2026, at 11 a.m., at Kreamer Funeral Home & Crematory Inc., 618 E. Main St., Annville. Interment will follow at Grand View Memorial Park. A viewing will be held from 9 a.m. until the time of his service at the funeral home.
