Alexander Stoffer Jr., 90, of Palmyra, passed away on Wednesday, Feb. 28, 2024. He was the husband of the late Eleonore (Seemann) Stoffer, who passed away in 2021.

Born in Gyarmet, Hungary, he was the son of the late Alexander Sr. and Irene Stoffer.

Alexander came to America as a teenager from Hungary, gained his citizenship, and joined the Army. His career with the Army and National Guard spanned over 40 years, serving in Korea, where he was injured, received a Purple Heart, and retired as an SMA. He worked as an electrical technician at Ft. Indiantown Gap. His hobbies included working around the house and Ham Radio. Alexander was a member of the Knights of Columbus.

He is survived by two sons, Alexander Stoffer, of North Little Rock, Arkansas, and Siegfried Stoffer, of Palmyra; four grandchildren, Amy Stoffer, Eric Stoffer, and wife, Rebecca, Cassie, wife of Marek Stanczyk, and Josh Stoffer; three great-grandchildren, Eugene Griffith Jr., Samantha Stoffer, and Francesca Stanczyk; and daughter-in-law, Barbara Stoffer, of Lebanon.

Alexander was preceded in death by a son, Hubert “Butch” Stoffer; and two sisters, Irene Deitz and Shelia Stoffer.

Private services will be held at the convenience of the family, with the inurnment held at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.
