We are deeply saddened by the loss of Alice Franconi, 82, of Lebanon County, who passed away peacefully in her home, lovingly cared for by her devoted husband, Michael Franconi. Alice and Michael recently celebrated 58 years of marriage, a testament to their enduring love and partnership.
Born to the late Alfred and Mildred Linn, Alice was predeceased by her sister, Jeanie. She is survived by her husband, Michael (83), and their two daughters, Christine Lerew (husband Jason Lerew) and Carolyn Novak. She will be lovingly remembered by her three granddaughters, Sarah (Lerew) Kappes (husband Jake Kappes), Grace Lerew, and Lauren Novak. Alice is also survived by her brother, Alfred Linn.
Alice was known for her kindness, compassion, and wonderful sense of humor; traits that endeared her to all who knew her. She dedicated much of her life to volunteer work, contributing her time and energy to causes close to her heart. She was an active volunteer at St. Jude’s Catholic School in Mountain Top, where her daughters attended, and later, she devoted herself to hospice work in Lansdale. Alice also served as the Activities Director at Kindred Place in Annville, where she brightened the lives of residents with her creativity and warmth.
Alice’s giving spirit was most evident during the holidays when she, along with Michael and granddaughter Lauren, would dress up as Santa, Mrs. Claus, and an elf, bringing joy to the residents of Renova Center, a home for special needs individuals. Her love for her family and community was boundless, and she took pride in fighting for causes she believed in, including her successful campaign for a traffic light at her children’s bus stop in Mountain Top, ensuring their safety.
She cherished family gatherings, time spent with her daughters and granddaughters, and the joy of traveling and laughing with friends. Alice’s legacy of love, strength, and generosity will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
A service will be held for family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Alice’s memory to the Dementia Society of America, reflecting her lifelong commitment to helping others. (DementiaSociety.org)
