Alice M. Copenhaver, 78, passed away on Thursday, March 11, 2021, after a battle with cancer at her residence, surrounded by her family. She was the wife of Mark Copenhaver, with whom she shared 56 years of marriage.
Born in North Cornwall Twp. on Dec. 25, 1942, she was the daughter of the late John J. and Verna Sellers Forney and the late Carmen Bassler Forney, her step-mother.
Alice was a 1960 graduate of Annville-Cleona High School. She received her Medical Secretary Degree from Central Penn Business School and was employed by a Neurosurgeon in Harrisburg. After her marriage, she transitioned into a faithful farmer’s wife.
She was a member of the Annville United Christian Church where she taught Sunday school and played piano. She loved playing accordion in her early years. She also loved gardening, reading, and spending time with her family.
Surviving is a son, Duane (Becky Kimmel) Copenhaver, of Lebanon, two daughters, Kristy (Andy) Stewart, of Bluffton, OH, Valerie (Micah) Jones, of Bow, NH, 12 grandchildren, Breanne (Colton) Long, Jordan (Katelyn) Copenhaver, Luke, Jacob, Aleah, and Landen Copenhaver, Drew, Julia, Skyler, and Emily Stewart, Grant and Alethia Jones, two great-grandchildren, Carter Long and Trinity Copenhaver, one sister, Janet Wenger, of Annville, two brothers, Carl (Kathleen) Forney, of Greencastle, and Gary (Jane) Forney, of Lebanon.
Viewing will be held Tuesday, March 16, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Kreamer Funeral Home, in Annville. The funeral service will be Wednesday, March 17, at the Fontana Chapel, 22 Fontana Ave, Lebanon, with viewing at 9:00 a.m. and the service at 10:00 a.m. Interment will be in South Annville Cemetery.
