Allen R. “Russ” Firestone, 74, of Lebanon, passed away on Tuesday, July 27, 2021, at Cedar Haven.  He was the husband of Debra J. (Hartman) Firestone.  Born in Lebanon on May 15, 1947, Russ was the son of the late Herbert A. and Helen S. Firestone.

In 1965, Russ graduated and enlisted in the U.S. Navy.  After the Navy, Russ worked for the Interstate Dress Company until 1985 when he started working for Walsh also known as National Retail Transportation.  Russ retired from NRT as the Trucking Company Manager when he was 65. In his retired life, Russ picked up driving school van for DB Fisher which he really enjoyed.

Russ  was not only a loving husband and caring brother but he was also a hard-working father.  Working second and third shifts to provide for his family, Russ was the type of person to never miss a good night call to his wife and kids. Outside of work, there were many things that Russ enjoyed in life such as painting ceramics, decorating for Christmas, fishing, camping and playing poker with his family and friends. Russ was funny, strong willed, extremely loved and strived to provide the best life possible for his family.  In the words of his granddaughter (Ariana), “Pappy was really fun to play with and he made me laugh.”

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son, Russ Firestone II, his daughter, Alysha Althouse (Firestone) and her husband Mike, and his step son, Kenny Ulrich and his wife Linda; four grandsons, Tyler Chadwick-Cruz, Russ Firestone III, Rolen Firestone and Michael Althouse III; three granddaughters, Brittany Ulrich, Ariana Althouse, Abriella Althouse; great grandson Allen R.
