Alverta A. “Birdie “ Hess, 93, passed away peacefully, Sunday, Feb. 7, 2021, with her family by her side in WellSpan Good Samaritan Hospital.

Born in North Annville Twp. on Jan. 13, 1928, she was the daughter of the late William and Stella (Reese) Bomgardner. Birdie had been employed by various Shoe Factories and worked as a crossing guard. Birdie enjoyed cooking and sewing.

Birdie is survived by three sons, Karl (Dawn) Hess, of Manheim, PA, Robert (Marina) Hess, Loredo, TX, Glenn (Susan) Hess, of Cartersville, GA, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Birdie was predeceased by her daughters, Cheryl Ebersole and Margie Boland.

A memorial service will be held in the Rohland Funeral Home Inc. 508 Cumberland St, Lebanon, PA, 17042 on Friday, Feb. 26, 2021, at 2:00 p.m. with a visitation from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the service.
